{"id":155462,"date":"2010-04-29T19:28:21","date_gmt":"2010-04-29T19:28:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/climalife.com\/leonidas-opts-for-forane-427a-to-replace-r-22\/"},"modified":"2023-07-24T10:25:54","modified_gmt":"2023-07-24T10:25:54","slug":"leonidas-opts-for-forane-427a-to-replace-r-22","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/climalife.com\/ro\/leonidas-opts-for-forane-427a-to-replace-r-22\/","title":{"rendered":"Leonidas opts for Forane\u00ae 427A to replace R-22"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Leonidas, the world-famous Belgian chocolateer, has converted the refrigeration unit in the final tunnel of its chocolate production line to &nbsp;Forane\u00ae 427A.<br>Last March, following the breakdown of its refrigeration system, Mr. Pollin, Technical Manager of the Leonidas plant at Anderlecht, Belgium, elected to replace the damaged compressor with a unit designed for HFCs with a view to phasing out R-22 by the end of 2009.After a presentation of replacement solutions for R-22 and technical advice from Climalife, Leonidas chose Forane\u00ae 427A because the performance of this HFC mix came close to that of R-22<br>The installation dating from 1987 is equipped with a semi-airtight 15 CV Frascold compressor with a 35 kW refrigeration output.<br>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"right\"><span class=\"bleu\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/uploadsassetsEtudes_de_casvitrine_chocolat.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"255\" height=\"353\" align=\"right\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"10\" \/><strong><br \/>Leonidas,<\/strong> the world-famous Belgian chocolateer, has converted the refrigeration unit in the final tunnel of its chocolate production line to \u00a0<strong>Forane\u00ae 427A<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Last March, following the breakdown of its refrigeration system, Mr. Pollin, Technical Manager of the Leonidas plant at Anderlecht, Belgium, elected to replace the damaged compressor with a unit designed for HFCs with a view to phasing out R-22 by the end of 2009.<\/p>\n<p>After a presentation of replacement solutions for R-22 and technical advice from Climalife, Leonidas chose Forane\u00ae 427A because the performance of this HFC mix came close to that of R-22.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The installation dating from 1987 is equipped with a semi-airtight 15 CV Frascold compressor with a 35 kW refrigeration output.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">In order not to interrupt production, Mr. Bouazza and Mr. Ismali, the plant&#8217;s Refrigeration Technicians, are switching chocolate production to a multi-functional line during normal servicing.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The conversion starts by recovering the R-22 in the installation followed by a vacuum run. If there is no pollution in the line no further cleaning is necessary.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/uploadsassetsEtudes_de_casM3_-_FAG_003web.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"333\" align=\"left\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"10\" \/>The new Frascold compressor pre-filled with POE oil is installed, after which an oil replacement is scheduled to convert any residual oil. The dehumidifier filters, solenoid valves and fluid indicators are changed. Thirty kilos of <strong>Forane\u00ae 427A<\/strong> are loaded from a 61-litre tank.<br \/>The pressure regulator is not replaced but superheating is adjusted to compensate for the temperature range of the new <strong>Forane\u00ae 427A<\/strong> fluid (mix) and to maintain the same refrigeration output. As a last stage, the technicians check the HP\/BP safety units before restarting the installation.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The 34 kg of <strong>recovered R-22 are sent to Climalife for reprocessing.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><em><br \/>\u00a0\u00a0 Cold battery and ventilation<br \/>\u00a0\u00a0 caisson<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/uploadsassetsEtudes_de_casM3_-_FAG_004web.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"203\" align=\"left\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"10\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The operation has been a real success.
