A few weeks ago, worldwide refrigerant producers announced their price increases for HCFC refrigerants (R-22,R-408A, R-409A,….). Recently new price increases were introduced for HFC’s (R-404A, R-410A, R-134a, R-407C,…). Price increases with 10 to 15% on the whole range of refrigerants came effective as from 1st April 2008.<\/strong> <\/p>\n

“Increasing oil and gas prices, and subsequently escalating raw material cost for the refrigerant industry, are making a revision of current prices inevitable,” says Gonzalo Alonso, sales manager DuPont Refrigerants EMEA. “In addition, sulphur, used in the production of hydrofluoric acid (HF), prices have almost quintubled in recent weeks, principally due to a higher demand for crop protection chemicals. Flourspar and chlorine costs continue to go up significantly as well. Transportation costs remain high, adding to the overall unfavourable situation.” <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
