The European Directive 2005 / 90 / EC was published in the Offical Journal of the European Parliament on 18/01/2006 and entered into force on 24/08/2008.
This European Directive relates to restrictions on the marketing and use of certain dangerous substances and preparations (substances classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic to reproduction – c/m/r).
The measures of this directive are part of a European action plan that serves a common action programme to protect the general public health.
Refrigeration and airconditioning industry is also concerned by this directive as this industry uses brazing alloys containing cadmium.
