R-22 is a hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) refrigerant with high latent heat of vaporisation used for residential, commercial and industrial air conditioning.
It is also used at low temperatures (to -40°C), for refrigeration and deep freezing. In energy recovery, it allows the production of heat pumps with average temperature heat sources (55°C maximum).
