For more than three decades, Szerelvénybolt Kft. has been a trusted name in Hungary’s building services sector. Founded in 1993 in Kecskemét as an independent family business, the company has grown into one of the country’s leading retailers and wholesalers of plumbing, heating, and building services products. Today, Szerelvénybolt operates a nationwide network of nine stores, serving both professional installers and private customers with a portfolio that includes water, gas, and heating systems, sanitaryware, tiling, heat pumps, air-conditioning systems, and renewable energy solutions.
Investing in a more sustainable future

As part of its long-term sustainability strategy, Szerelvénybolt launched an energy modernisation programme to reduce energy consumption, operating costs, and its environmental footprint. The first phase focused on the Budaörs site, which already featured a 35 kWp photovoltaic system.
Over the years, the building underwent energy-efficiency upgrades, including rock wool roof insulation, thermally insulated timber windows, and split air-conditioning units for summer cooling.
The most significant step came at the beginning of 2026, when the ageing condensing gas boiler was replaced with a 100 kW Terralux Climastar airto- water heat pump, which was connected using the Install Inox Tempress system, installed exclusively to supply heating. The system serves a total area of 1,240 m², including a warehouse, showroom, and office space for 13 employees.
Choosing Greenway® Neo Heat Pump N: A Sustainable and High-Performance Solution
To maximise the sustainability of the installation, Szerelvénybolt sought a heat transfer fluid that aligned with its commitment to environmental responsibility. Instead of using a conventional antifreeze solution, the company opted for Greenway® Neo Heat Pump N -18, a renewable, plantbased heat transfer fluid recommended by Sándor Simon, engineer and sales representative at Climalife Kft.

Greenway® Neo Heat Pump N -18 delivers outstanding environmental performance. As a bio-based fluid, it significantly reduces CO2 emissions compared to traditional glycols, lowering the carbon footprint of the entire heating system. Its advanced formulation ensures excellent thermal stability, and guarantees optimal heat transfer and system efficiency, even in demanding conditions. Non-toxic and biodegradable, it minimises environmental impact in case of accidental leakage.
As part of Szerelvénybolt’s own product portfolio, Greenway® Neo Heat Pump N -18 had already been successfully supplied for numerous customer installations. This firsthand experience with the product’s reliability and performance made it a natural choice for the company’s own project.
By adopting this solution, Szerelvénybolt not only demonstrated its confidence in the product but also positioned itself as an ambassador for sustainable heating solutions, showcasing the benefits to its customers and the wider market.
Installation began in January 2026, with commissioning completed in early February. A total of 1,350 litres of Greenway® Neo Heat Pump N -18 was filled into the carefully insulated indoor and outdoor pipework.
The installation and commissioning were carried out entirely by the Szerelvénybolt technical team, including technician Valentin Majorosi, and installer Soma Sántha, both of whom specialise in heat pumps and air conditioning.

Efficient operation from day one
Despite taking place in the middle of the heating season, the complete changeover required only 24 hours of downtime. Operating with a flow temperature of 65 °C and a return temperature of 50 °C, the radiator system has consistently maintained a comfortable indoor temperature of 24 °C throughout the building.
For additional operational security, the former condensing gas boiler has been retained as a backup heat source connected to a 160-litre buffer tank.
By combining the photovoltaic system with the highefficiency Terralux Climastar 100 heat pump and Greenway® Neo Heat Pump N -18, Szerelvénybolt has achieved a highly sustainable and cost-effective heating solution. The new heat pump now provides the building’s heating demand with high efficiency, significantly reducing both natural gas consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.
The benefits
“The Budaörs project demonstrates how the integration of heat pump technology and photovoltaic panels can deliver a reliable, environmentally responsible and economically sustainable heating solution for commercial and industrial buildings.” concludes Valentin Majorosi.
Encouraged by the excellent performance of the installation, Szerelvénybolt’s management has already decided to extend the programme. During 2026, two additional stores will undergo similar upgrades, continuing the company’s commitment to improving energy efficiency and investing in a more sustainable future.
